About Us

Welcome to A Great Story to Tell, a website that highlights how the progressive community of Gainesville and Hall County, Georgia, stands out in so many ways compared to the rest of the United States.

Economically, Gainesville-Hall County is the third-fastest growing metropolitan area in the country, according to the most recent Census reports. While no city or region has been immune to the ongoing national recession, this well-positioned Northeast Georgia community just north of Atlanta is much farther ahead than most in virtually every economic indicator.

A big factor is its location at the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River and one of the most popular lakes in the nation. Alongside the many miles of Lake Lanier ‘s shoreline, residents of Gainesville-Hall County are treated every day to the breath-taking, rolling blue hues of the nearby Appalachian Mountain range. These grand views are only part of the story of a vibrant quality of life that has been a magnet for an array of Fortune 500 companies, tourists – and even the 1996 Olympics (which is how Gainesville first earned its reputation as the “Hospitality Capital of the World” while hosting this most famous of international sporting events as the venue for the rowing and kayaking competition).

Within this website, you’ll discover many more treasures about Gainesville-Hall County in the areas of Lifestyle, Health, Education, Homes, and Business.
